Jin-Gyu was a research associate who studied structural colors made through self-assembly of colloidal particles. He received his BS (1995) and MS (1997) in the Department of Industrial Chemistry engineering from Hanyang University in 2002. He then worked as a research engineer developing electronic materials for packagings, optical materials for LCD displays, and printing materials for LBP from 2002-2007 at Samsung Cheil Industries. From 2007 to 2010, he did postdoctoral research on the synthesis and self-assembly of nonspherical colloidal particles with Prof. Eric R. Dufresne at Yale University. His research interests include materials chemistry, surface and colloidal chemistry, and self-assembly of colloidal particles at liquid-liquid interfaces.
