Rebecca Perry was a PhD student in Applied Physics who studied the energetics and dynamics of close-packed clusters of microspheres in both 2D and 3D. Her work included development of digital holographic microscopy techniques as well as experimental investigation of the statistical mechanical properties of colloidal clusters. She received her B.A. in physics from Bowdoin College in 2007 and got her introduction to soft condensed matter while studying the rheology of foams in an REU program at Indiana University and working with colloidal materials while employed at Cabot Corporation. She earned her PhD from Harvard in 2015.
